Is a Cosmetology Career Right for You
1Is a Cosmetology Career Right for You Is a cosmetology career right for you? This question begs asking if you're considering any long-term plans in the cosmetology industry. Training takes a whole lot of effort and time (and, of course, money--cosmetology school isn't free!), so it's imperative that you understand the investment you're making. It would be a shame to complete your cosmetology education and then decide you weren't going to take advantage of your certification and skills! So how do you know if you would be a successful cosmetologist? Well there are a number of traits you may have that would certainly help you succeed easily, and we'll talk about them here. This is not at all to say that if you don't have these traits you cannot be a successful cosmetologist. But having them would be a plus. Are you a dedicated person? Prospective cosmetologists should be dedicated to putting in lots of hard (but fun!) work to successfully complete training. But being dedicated to your school work at beauty colleges isn't all. You should be dedicated to your own image as a service employee, meaning in turn that you have to show dedication to your clients. Are you creative and artistic? Some things cosmetologists do don't require much creativity. But makeup artists and hairstylists in particular should understand that being able to visualize how their client will look before even starting to work on them is very important. Of course, making their clients understand what they will look like is just as important. Are you a nice person? Or, more accurately, can you pretend to be a nice person? Everybody wants and expects to be respected. Being rude to your teachers, your classmates, your clients or anyone else in the business will greatly hurt your chances of success. So if you can put on a cheery attitude and at the very least pretend to be nice (of course we encourage genuine kindness!) your cosmetology career will go a long way.Ambition. Anyone pursuing a career in anything should have ambition. But in the cosmetology industry ambition can take your cosmetology career far up the ladder. Would you like to run your own beauty clinic some day? If you're ambitious enough to have that desire, studying and working hard early in your career will pay off in the long run when you might run your very own business! If you have these characteristics, you should seriously consider a cosmetology career. That's not to say it will be an easy journey; on the contrary, you will have to put in lots of hard work even if you naturally embody those traits. And if you don't have them? That's okay too. Everything depends on your attitude--if you really want to be a cosmetologist, hard work and dedication matter most. Creativity will flow with that dedication. So is a cosmetology career right for you? If the answer is yes, then start looking into beauty colleges and learn about the ones that interest you. That's the first step to starting your successful cosmetology career!

How To Compile a Winning Hair Stylist Resume
1How To Compile a Winning Hair Stylist Resume If you are looking for a job as a hair stylist, the first and most important thing is to have a really convincing resume, with a lot of emphasis on your professional background and education. In the next few paragraphs, you will find the basic steps to write an excellent hair stylist resume. Before you start work, you should be prepared that writing a resume is not very hard, but it can take some time. On the other hand, if you have a well-written resume, the time of finding a job can be drastically reduced. The first thing you should do when you write a hair stylist resume is to select a proper template. You can find these in resume writing books or by a simple search on the internet. There is no general template that can be used by everyone: instead there are countless different templates, each having specific advantages and disadvantages. You should choose the one that fits your needs best.As a next step, you should write your name and contact information in the designated area at the top of the template. Don't forget to double-check your phone number for errors, because most likely you will be contacted on the phone by the employer. Then it is important to formulate an objective statement: this is a short, 2-3 proposition part that includes your professional goals, skills and highlights the ways your work can bring benefit the company. In short, this is a satisfactory objective statement: "To get a job as a hairstylist in a fashionable saloon where my reputation and education will help increase the number of regular clients."Another important part of a hair stylist resume is the education history. Here you should make a complete list of your cosmetology schooling, refresher courses, seminars and workshops you attended. You should also write a list of your previous jobs in this trade. If you are a beginner, you should try to write about the jobs that involved frequent contact with people. You should also include any previous jobs that can prove that you are a responsible person. If you also have certificates, you should include a list of those, along with the year they were earned.A list of your references is a crucial part of your hair stylist resume. You should not forget to include the name and contact of those who agreed to give credentials of your work ethics and hair stylist skills. It is good to have at least two references that are not relatives. The best is to convince your cosmetology school instructor and a manager or a shop owner you have worked with to give you references.
Hair Stylist Resumes for Budding Hair Dressers
1Hair Stylist Resumes for Budding Hair Dressers The employment of cosmetologists will grow at a faster pace than the average for all occupations, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's career outlook for the next two years. A cosmetologist is basically a hair dresser. If you dream about making a career as a hair stylist, you have to be aware that there is fierce levels of competition at well-paying, high-class saloons, but there are plenty positions in regular shops. You should be able to locate a position more easily if you have lots of experience and you can offer a number of diverse skills. When you create your hair dressing resume, there are a few basic elements that have to be included. At first, it is important to mention in your hair dressing resume what position you are looking for. High-class salons usually have stylists specialized in specific areas, such as tinting or trimming. If you desire a cutter or colorist position, make a section about this and be sure to highlight your training and past experience to demonstrate that you are qualified for that job.Lastly a summary of your certifications should be written in the profile area. The hiring officer must know the number of years of expertise you have, and what type of worker you are. How is your performance under pressure? Are you willing to play in team? Can you attract and keep customers? Your profile must be presented in such a way that it gets the interest of the employer.Under the professional experience heading of your hair dresser resume you must present a schedule of your work history, commencing with the most recent job. Here you should list all the salons you have worked in previously, the periods you worked there and additionally give details about the responsibilities you had. Most salon owners want to have someone with stable work record, so you need to be ready to explain any gaps. Salon owners are usually looking for a long-term employee, and do not want to hire a hair dresser that changes career too often. If you got awards and other accolades, you should list these as well. However, do not make this section excessively lengthy. Many salon managers only want to see what the differences are between you and competing stylists is. Another crucial part of a hair stylist resume is the one about your education. You must also provide information about where you obtained your cosmetology training and what kind of relevant courses you had. Your potential boss requires that you remain up-to-date in this rapidly changing industry.
Hair Stylist Resume Writing Tips
1Hair Stylist Resume Writing Tips According to the U.S. Department of Labor's occupational outlook for the next two years, the employment of cosmetologists will grow at a faster rate than the average for all occupations. A cosmetologist is nothing more than a hair stylist. Those who are looking for a career in this field must know that despite the fact that there is fierce competition at high-end salons, there are plenty of jobs available at smaller shops. You will be able to find a job more easily if you have lots of training and you can offer a number of different services. When you write your hair stylist resume, you should include a few basic things. The first thing you must write in your hair stylist resume is the position you seek. Fancy saloons have stylists specialized in different areas, like cutting or coloring. You should write what kind of position you are looking for, and you should be able to show that your educational background and work experience makes you an ideal candidate for that position.A summary about your qualifications should be written in the profile area. The hiring officer must know how many years of experience you have, and what kind of employee you are. Is your performance under pressure good? Are you a team player? Are you able to attract and keep clients? Your profile should be written in such a way that it grabs the attention of the employer.Under the professional experience heading in your hair stylist resume you should make a list of your work history, starting with the most recent employment. Here you should include the salons where you have worked, the dates you were working there and all the responsibilities you handled. Most salon owners will look for a stable work history, so you should not be surprised if they ask you to explain all the job changes and gaps. Because salon owners always want a permanent team member, they will not hire a stylist who changes his job every few months. You should also write a list of your awards and other recognitions. However, you should not make this section very complicated: your future employer only wants to know that you are different from other stylists. Another crucial part of a hair stylist resume is the one about your training: you should give details about where you received your cosmetology training and what kind of complementary courses you had. Because this industry is ever-changing, the potential employer wants to see that you stay current with the latest trends.
Get a Job Cost Effective Ways to Gain Experience
1Get a Job Cost Effective Ways to Gain Experience Are you looking for a new job? Have you noticed that most of the jobs you want to apply for have job requirements that you simply do not meet? As you can imagine, you are unlikely to land a job with a high school education if the job listing calls for a bachelor's degree in a particular field. With that said, you'll typically notice that many job listings call for a certain level of training or on-the-job experience. If you do not have enough, here are some cost effective ways that you can gain training and experience.Training CourseIf you are unable to attend college, for whatever the reason, look into training courses offered by community colleges, career centers, and vocational training centers (typically the organizations that provide high school students with auto repair classes and cosmetology classes). Many of these classes are affordable and in some cases free. For adults, night classes are typically offered.Although a college degree or a college education will appear better on a resume, a training class or two that you successfully completed in the sector you are looking to secure a job is recommended. It is a relatively easy and cost effective way to add training and education to your resume or job applications.Part-Time JobLet's say that your main goal is to secure a stable, well-paying job as an office manager. You previously worked in retail. Through avid computer use and an old high school training class, you do type 85 words per minute. Your retail experience enabled you to hone in on your customer service skills. You know you are the good candidate for the job, but job listings typically ask for at least 6 months office experience. It will not hurt to apply for jobs as-is, but consider securing a part-time, second job that enables you to gain that much needed job experience. In keeping with the example of office manager jobs, look for nighttime positions if you are currently employed full-time during the day. Hospitals, emergency care centers, hotels, and motels need around the clock office help. The biggest benefit is that you get paid while securing additional job experience.Volunteer WorkAs nice as it is to say "go out and get a part-time job," it is simply not an option for every job seeker. You may be unable to work nights due to being a single parent. You may be unable to take a part-time job without losing your unemployment benefits. In that case, look into using volunteer work as a way to gain job experience. When we think of volunteer work, most often cleaning dog cages at the SPCA or being a candystriper at a hospital comes to mind. Volunteer work comes in every shape and size. Look for volunteer opportunities that enable you to get job experience. For example, volunteer to work the front desk at an animal shelter, at your non-profit library, for a non-profit youth organization, and so forth.

Format For a Resume Reference Page - The How to Guide
1Format For a Resume Reference Page - The How to Guide There are plenty of "how to" guides on writing a resume, but very few address the issue of what the format for a resume reference page should look like. A reference page is a critical part of the resume/job search process. Notice I stated, "reference page" as your references should be placed on separate page rather than in your resume!DON'T place your references in your resume - that is not the proper format! The first step in learning how to put references in a resume is don't put them in it...Create a separate sheet and use a resume reference sample page as a guide. The standard in the "Job Search" world is: 3 Professional References 3 Personal References If you stick to this standard you should be more than prepared for any inquiry from employers. The format for a resume reference page is a simple layout with no extra fluff. Stay away from trying to sell yourself to the employer - just give them the facts.Your Professional References should be listed as follows:NameJob TitleCompanyAddressPhone NumberEmail AddressWilliam J. MyarCorporate Accounts ManagerInglewood Production, Inc444 East Steel RoadJoliet, Illinois 12345(123) 456-7890Email addressList your Personal References as follows:NameAddressPhone NumberEmail AddressSteven L. Pinkerton321 Jenkins AvenueMilan, Illinois 12345(123) 456-7890Email addressDon't forget to contact your references prior to placing them on your list. This keeps your references from being blindsided by the employer and allows them some time to prepare for the call.Another good idea is to send them a copy of your resume so they can get an idea of your qualifications. The Format for a Resume Reference Page is no more than one page and creates a convenient way for you to respond to reference inquiries from employers.

Finding your first job in the beauty industry Education is key to future opportunities
1Finding your first job in the beauty industry Education is key to future opportunities Stepping up the rungs of the cosmetology profession begins with that crucial cornerstone: finding your first job. Whether you're a recent high school grad or a senior who's exploring career options, it's vitally important to choose the right beauty school! Finding the Right Beauty School. We urge you to do your homework and ask a lot of questions since you'll be making an investment in a beauty school or cosmetology school. First, we strongly recommend that you consider beauty schools and cosmetology schools that are accredited by the National Accrediting Association Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NAACAS). If you decide to attend a non-accredited beauty school, be sure to check with the state licensing board to ensure that the school is licensed to legally operate in the state where it's located. Other important factors to consider are: Financial aid Does the beauty school participate in Federal student financial aid programs, the Department of Veteran Affairs for veteran education benefits and the Workforce Investment Act. Job placement rates of graduates Ratio of training, i.e., classroom lecture vs. laboratory/clinic hands-on? Do students work on mannequins or real paying customers? What percentage of graduates passes the licensing exam? Transferability of credits if I decide to change schools Preparing for the job market. Jumpstart your job hunt-and land that first beauty industry position by talking with career counselors at the school where you completed your cosmetology education. Ask them to provide job leads, resume evaluation, interviewing advice and networking connections. No reputable school will guarantee jobs to their graduates. However, most schools will assist you in your job search by providing career days where salon owners come to the school to present their salon and to teach classes on hair cutting, color, professional dress, what to expect in the salon work environment. Most schools also offer resume writing and job interviewing skills training as part of their curriculum. Knowing what you want. Understand and clarify your goals and expectations for your first job. Is location or geography important-do you want to work in a small town or metropolitan area? Where do you want to be five or ten years from now? What path do you want your career to follow? Understand the variety of opportunities. After you graduate from beauty school and pass your State's board exam, you'll be ready to work in a variety of exciting fields: at a salon or spa on a cruise ship in a dermatologist's office as a platform artist working with models at fashion shows in retail sales and marketing เนโฌเธ.OR fulfill your entrepreneurial dreams by starting your own business! Interview Tips. When you do land those first interviews, dress appropriately, paying close attention to personal hygiene and wearing business-like attire. Make direct eye contact with the interviewer, ask questions, and give direct and concise answers. Lack of experience doesn't necessarily doom new grads and high school seniors. Be honest and tell a prospective employer, "Yes, I am fresh out of school, but I'm willing to learn if you will give me a chance." To receive a FREE copy of the Beauty Industry Career Guide, visit the Salon Success website. Summary You're ready to dive into the beauty industry job market-all it takes is a little preparation and lots of confidence. Providing beauty services that enhance the appearance of your clients is a very gratifying, exciting and challenging career choice. And, the Job Outlook for well-trained beauty professionals has never been better. In fact, a career in the beauty industry is virtually recession proof because both women and men want to look good and feel good as they age - whether the economy is booming or weak. With the aging of 78 million baby boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964), the demand for beauty and wellness services will be very strong for decades to come. Finding Your Dream Job Online - Tips For Online Job Seekers
1Finding Your Dream Job Online - Tips For Online Job Seekers Most people are excited about the idea of finding a job online. The internet offers many opportunities and convenience for online job seekers. There are thousands of sites where you can go to register and search for jobs. These websites allow you to browse and search thousands of jobs by searching through listings based on your chosen career. However, in order to avoid making some mistakes and blunders, you need to be careful about your personal information when looking for a job online. Here are some things you need to keep in mind when job hunting online.1. Be careful where you post your resume or CV.Not every ad you see online will lead you to a secure and trusted site. If you're going to post your personal information on any website, make sure you do your homework and find out about the site beforehand. The best way to do this is to visit various discussion forums online and find out what other people's experiences of that site are. You may be tempted to post your CV or resume on every job site you find. That is not a good idea. Look for quality sites with good privacy policies. There is always the possibility of businesses or individuals using your personal data for profit instead of using it to help you. So choose your job sites carefully. Also, you don't need to post your CV or resume on every site you find. Sometimes all you need to do is get the employers details and send your details through the post.2. Make sure the website allows you to remove your details when you want to.Believe it or not, there are websites out there where you cannot delete your resume after you've posted it. They want to increase the number of job seekers on their database to attract potential employers so they don't care if you are still looking for a job or not. So before posting your resume or CV, satisfy yourself that you'll be able to delete it when you are done. You don't want your details floating among businesses or companies long after you've found the job you want. It also increases the risk of your information being stolen by privacy thieves.3. Be careful what information you include on your CV or resumeAlways limit the personal information you post online. You should never post things like credit card numbers, Social Security numbers (SSN) or National Insurance numbers (NI), bank account numbers, mother's maiden name, referees' names and phone numbers or any type of identifying characteristics or financial data.4. Keep a record of every site where you post your details.Remember to keep good records of where you have posted your details online including usernames and passwords. You will need to visit these sites and delete your personal information after you have found your dream job. Where available, try to reply to jobs directly instead of through a third party. If the job site masks your personal information and contact details and allows you to control who contacts you, make sure you choose to use this facility. This is better than letting every potential employer see your contact details. Some of the companies who see your CV or resume may not be legitimate and may only be interested in profiting from using your personal data.

Finding a Cosmetology Job - 7 Tips to a Great Entry-Level Position
1Finding a Cosmetology Job - 7 Tips to a Great Entry-Level Position You've just graduated from cosmetology school and passed your state boards, so now what? How do you go about getting your first job as a cosmetologist?Utilize your School's Placement OfficeIf you're fortunate enough to have gone to a cosmetology school that has a job placement office, check with them regarding job possibilities. Staff members who work in placement offices usually have a good rapport with area employers, and are usually willing to help by suggesting certain places to apply or offering to make phone calls to potential employers regarding job openings. Most placement offices have some type of bulletin board upon which they post any job listings they have received. Placement offices are also a good resource for help with resumes, job hunting tips, and interviewing skills.Join a Professional OrganizationThe National Cosmetology Association (NCA), which is the largest professional organization for salon professionals, can provide guidance and assistance with getting that first job, or with finding a new one. NCA has an online tool called YBN Career Hub, which is a free resource for salon owners to post job openings, as well as for job seekers to search for salon and spa openings nationwide. Those who wish to use Career Hub need only to register by selecting a user name and password.Pound the PavementAlthough sending out resumes and sitting home waiting for the phone to ring may seem like the right way to look for a job, there are better ways. Making phone calls to potential employers, or better yet, calling on them in person are much more effective strategies when it comes to finding a cosmetology job. Ask to speak with the salon owner or manager, and if they are busy or unavailable, make an appointment to meet with them to discuss your qualifications.Be FlexibleIf you really want to get your foot in the door of an upscale salon that has no openings or does not consider new graduates, ask about assistant opportunities. Some experienced designers who cannot fit all their clients into their schedule might consider hiring an assistant to perform their shampoos, apply and rinse their hair colors, and wrap their perms. It can be a win-win situation for both of you: the cosmetologist will be able to fit in more clients; and you will probably be paid at least minimum wage plus tips, learn from a talented professional, and maybe eventually land a position in the salon of your dreams!Online ResourcesThere are a number of online resources for cosmetologists looking for employment, such as Beauty School Lounge, which is a virtual meeting place for current and future cosmetology students, educators, and professionals. Beauty School Lounge includes a "Conversations" section for those interested in connecting with other cosmetologists for Q&As, general information, news and job hunting tips. The "Cosmetology Jobs" section of Beauty School Lounge allows job seekers to search for and apply for jobs directly with their resume and portfolio. New jobs are posted on a daily basis. The "Online Cosmetology Profiles" section allows cosmetologists to post pictures of their work from school or professional cosmetology services, and is also a good source to find jobs. The "Profile" section is another place job hunters can post information about themselves and their skills, and also display pictures of their work.NetworkingAs with most careers, the best and usually most efficient way to obtain a cosmetology job is to set up a network with others, including those you went to school with, cosmetologists who are working in the industry, and even the cosmetologist and salon you went to before going to cosmetology school yourself! Friends and relatives are also excellent networking partners. When asking those you are networking with for help, be sure to ask them if they know of anyone you could be networking with, and watch your network grow. The larger your network, the more job contacts you will make, and the faster you will become employed.Look the PartRemember to always look your best when doing interviews, as well as when visiting salons to inquire about openings. You never know when opportunity is going to strike, and you need to keep your skills sharp, your appearance polished, and your attitude professional.

Beauty School Grads Need a Competitive Edge During a Job Search
1Beauty School Grads Need a Competitive Edge During a Job Search What does that mean for recent beauty school graduates? Competition for jobs is tough. Yet, there are many things a student can do to give herself a competitive edge in the marketplace. To start, most graduates of beauty institutes can still look to their school's job placement counselors for help. These professionals have extensive contacts in salons, day spas, hotels, cruise ships, medical offices, and resorts, and are usually pretty good sources of information and networking. But don't wait until graduation to get started on a great career. While in school, make a name for yourself by outperforming all expectations. When top salons call the job placement counselor at your design school, your name should be at the tip of his/her tongue as the most talented, most driven, and most organized student.Second, during off hours, research potential employers-long before your cosmetology program is complete. Establish networks by visiting salons, attending trade shows, talking to beauty industry professionals, and handing out business cards. While at salons, day spas, hotels, or resorts, identify what positions might be opening up and ask what is required of new stylists so that you can apply that at cosmetology school the very next day.Third, use the Internet. There are plenty of job search sites specifically geared toward the cosmetology and fashion industries. Which websites and/or recruitment agencies should you avoid at all costs? Any company-including one that claims it has special connections in the salon industry-that requires job seekers to purchase a subscription to access job listings. Employers pay websites to list their open positions, not the other way around.Next, create your own website or online slideshow to showcase your artistic talents, especially if you're applying for design jobs nationwide, or even internationally. A link to your gallery of photos will impress the salon or day spa manager, and put you at the top of his or her consideration list.Lastly, create a great resume, listing any and all jobs related to your job search. Account for gaps in employment, be brief yet descriptive, use measurements ("during my internship at the salon I exceed product sales goals by 20 percent), and keep it to one page.

An Introduction to Cosmetology Careers
An Introduction to Cosmetology Careers Cosmetology careers are careers dedicated to enhancing people's appearances. Cosmetologists can specialize in hair, nails, makeup and many other aspects of physical beauty. To be a good cosmetologist you have to have artistic talent and vision, but you also have to be a good listener because you'll want to take your customers' wishes into account when creating their personal styles. You also should be able to get along well with people. After all, you'll be working with them at close range for long periods of time, so it can make the work more pleasant if you're a friendly person.A cosmetologist can work in a salon or spa, or in a shop. Some cosmetologists work in hospital settings, helping people who are sick or recuperating from major surgery or a serious injury. Others travel around and go into people's homes. Cosmetologists can work full-time or part-time, and many are self-employed.There are many different jobs a cosmetologist can do for a client. A short list would include massaging and treating the scalp, as well as doing all kinds of things to a person's hair: shampooing, cutting, curling, coloring, bleaching, straightening, setting and/or styling. Some cosmetologists specialize in nails, and perform manicures and pedicures. Others perform hair removal, and can get rid of facial hair and unwanted body hair. Some are makeup artists, and can give their customers virtually any look or shading possible. Other cosmetologists are expert wigmakers, and create wigs in virtually any conceivable style, texture or color. Other specializes in skin cleansings. There are also plenty of positions within the field of cosmetology. For example, you could work for a salon or other establishment for an hourly wage. After a while, you might be able to work your way up to a supervisor's position at that salon. Or you could pay money to a salon in order to use one of their chairs; under this arrangement you'd get to keep whatever money you earn from customers who sit in that chair. You could also open your own cosmetology store or salon. Or you could buy a franchise store. Or you might get a job as a personal beauty consultant to wealthy individuals. You could work for a cosmetics company, selling their products to salons and other establishments. Eventually, you could even teach at a cosmetology school. A person could try several of these positions over the course of the career, which would help prevent burnout.Salaries vary widely for cosmetologists. One of the biggest factors in salaries for a cosmetologist is geographic location-many urban cosmetologists make more money than their rural counterparts-as well as years of experience. The best way to increase your odds of making more money is to keep adding to your skill set; learn new techniques and methods all the time. The more things you can do within this field the easier it will be to find work when you're between jobs, too.
Adding Your Picture to Your Resume - Only If it is For a Acting Job
Adding Your Picture to Your Resume - Only If it is For a Acting Job Off and on, the issue of attaching one's photograph to a resume pops up. Some guru is always recommending somewhere that this is a good idea. After all, we live in a society that values physical appearance. We attach positive attributes to those attractive and physically fit. So, if you are attractive and physically fit, why not let recruiters know? Not being a guru, I have never been vehemently opposed to adding attaching a picture to one's resume. That said, I also generally do not think it is a good idea.Your resume is in essence a brief narrative of what you have done, and by inference, what you are capable of doing. In that regard, this document really only needs to show the jobs you have held, what you have been accountably for, what you have accomplished, and what special skills you possess (that separate you from the pack). So to my mind, there is no real room on a resume to talk about who you are per se, from a physical point of view.Aside from my own reaction to receiving a resume with a photograph, I see no value to a recruiter or hiring manager in knowing what you look like. In reality, as an applicant, a part of what you must do is either effectively navigate the obstacles in front of you, or eliminate as many as you can. Adding a picture does the opposite; it adds an obstacle. The reality is that there is discrimination in our hiring practices, subconsciously or overtly. Be it age discrimination, gender, or race; it happens. In most cases, the intent is not bad. But given to the choice to hire an apparently, physically fit person and an obese person, you would like to think that those two characteristics were not a part of the equation.Yet, by submitting a picture with a resume, you deliberately bring an unnecessary factor into the hiring process. A part of what a resume screener does is screen out applicants. One of your objectives is to minimize the reasons for being screened out.In a related issue, regardless of your physical appearance; when you have an opportunity to physically present your resume, do so in professional attire. At too many job fairs, I have seen applicants dressed casually or dressed wildly inappropriately. Even if you are applying for a low-paying hourly job, you must still present yourself in a conservative image. So, if someone suggests to you that you should submit a photograph along with your resume; only if you are applying for an acting position.
